About Me
Thank you for visiting my website! You probably want to know a little about me besides the work that I feature in this e-Portfolio.
I grew up in Northern New Jersey, close to NYC. My first foray into continuing education was to earn my Emergency Medical Technician Certification in my senior year of High School. The next year, I went off to central Pennsylvania to attend Penn State University. While there, I was very active in the vegetarian club and with Problem Child Literary Magazine. Problem Child is a student-run publication that releases a magazine of poetry, artwork, and prose once a semester. Many of my college nights were spent working on the magazine or having poetry "shows" with the other members of the club. Four years after leaving, I returned to New Jersey with a Bachelor's in English and a lot of writing experience under my belt. I started working full time as an EMT at a local medical transportation company. After working as an EMT for a few years, I decided to get back into writing and editing and started looking into a Master's Degree program. I entered the Graduate Certificate for Professional and Technical Communication Essentials in September of 2012 and completed it in 2013. I decided to continue with the program and am expecting to earn my degree in May 2014. This website will demonstrate the skills that I learn while working through this program as well as showcase the artistic work that I often incorporate into my technical designs.
In addition to furthering my education, I love to read fiction novels, write short fiction stories, hang out with my dog, and spend summer afternoons on the beach. I am on a never-ending quest to master the Russian language and I enjoy teaching myself how to play the dulcimer and the guitar. I hope to use all of my creative and technical skills as my career develops and I look forward to adding to my accomplishments in the future.
